What materials are your plates made from?
We use high-quality acrylic and reflective materials to ensure durability and clear visibility in all conditions.
Can I get a duplicate plate if mine is lost or damaged?
Yes! If you need a duplicate road legal plate, you must provide the necessary documentation to prove ownership. You can either bring the documents to our shop or attach them when placing your order online. Once verified, we can produce a replacement that is fully road legal.
Are your road legal plates compliant with UK laws?
Yes! Our road legal plates meet all DVLA regulations, including correct font, size, spacing, and reflective standards.
Can I Order over the holidays?
You can order online whenever, However if it out of business times your order will be processed when the shop is open again.
My tracking shows my order has been delivered, but I haven’t received my product.
If your tracking shows as delivered but you haven’t received your order, we recommend first checking around your property and with neighbours or anyone at your address.
If the parcel is still missing, you must contact Royal Mail directly using your tracking number, as they will be able to provide the most accurate delivery information and location details.
Please note that we do not send out replacement orders for parcels marked as delivered.
If you are still unable to locate your parcel after contacting Royal Mail, you can reach out to us via our Contact Us page with the following details so we can assist further:
- Full Name
- Order Number
- Tracking Number
- Date Purchased
I Ordered next day delivery but i have still not recieved my product. Why is this?
Next day delivery can be affected by several factors. For example, made-to-order items such as Signature Surrounds and business logo plates can take up to 7 days to be made and shipped. Other factors, such as Royal Mail delays or shipping issues, can also affect delivery times.
If you ordered next day delivery and have not received your order, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you.
COLLECTION
How long will my number plates be kept for collection?
We hold number plates for 30 days from the date of purchase.
If your number plates have not been collected within 30 days, they will be destroyed. After this period, if you still require the plates, you will need to place a new order and pay again.
I’ve ordered using Click & Collect — what happens next?
Once you’ve placed your order, please call us on 07771 131313 to check if we can fast-track it for you. Fast-tracking is subject to material availability and cannot be guaranteed.
How long do I have to wait before collecting my order?
You will need to wait at least 24 hours before collecting your item, unless you are told otherwise by a member of our team.
You will receive an email notification once your order is ready to collect. Please do not come to collect your order before this time, as it may not be ready.

Do you sell motorcycle plates?
Absolutely! We offer bike plates that comply with UK road laws, as well as custom designs for show use.
What’s the difference between road legal plates and show plates?
A road legal plate meets all legal requirements for use on public roads, including correct font, size, spacing, and reflective material. These plates can be fitted to your vehicle and are fully compliant with traffic laws.
A show plate, on the other hand, is designed for display purposes only—for car shows, photos, or decoration. It does not meet legal standards and cannot be used on public roads.
Do you offer custom designs for show plates?
Yes! You can personalize your show plates with unique fonts, colors, borders, and graphics to match your style.
SIGNATURE SURROUNDS
How long does it take to ship out the Surrounds?
Shipping the surrounds can take up to 7 working days, as each set is made to order to ensure the best quality.
Where are the surrounds made?
The surrounds are fully UK made in our own 40,000 sq ft warehouse, using advanced machinery to ensure precision and quality in every piece.
What styles off surrounds do you have?
We offer three types of surrounds: 3D Gel surrounds, which are our basic gel option, and our Signature surrounds, which can be made with or without a frame. The Signature surrounds are fully customizable, as each one is made by us in-house to your specifications.
What size surround do I need for my number plate?
If you have a hex-shaped number plate, you should order our hex surrounds.
Please note: our hex surrounds are specifically designed to fit our own number plates, so we cannot guarantee they will fit number plates purchased from other companies.
If your number plate has been shortened or customised in any way, you must let us know in the notes section at checkout so we can ensure the correct fit.
INTERNATIONAL
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally. However, please note that once your order has been shipped, it is out of our control. While we do our best to ensure it arrives safely, we cannot guarantee delivery and are not responsible for delays, customs issues, or lost packages after shipment.
FITTING SERVICE
Do you offer a fitting service?
Yes, we offer a fitting service at our B70 0DJ location only.
Please note, fittings cannot be carried out in the rain or in unsafe weather conditions.
By using our fitting service, the customer agrees that all fittings are carried out entirely at their own risk. Topgear Plates accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage caused during or after installation, regardless of how minor or major the damage may be.
This includes, but is not limited to, scratches, marks, cracks, broken clips, adhesive residue, damage to the vehicle, number plates, surrounds, fittings, fixings, or any other parts/items involved.
We will not compensate, refund, repair, replace, or pay for any damage under any circumstances, as we are not liable for any damage caused during the fitting process.
AFTER PURCHASE SUPPORT
How Can I Request a Receipt?
To request a receipt, you must fill out the form on the “Contact Us” page and include your proof of purchase and order number. Once submitted, your request will be reviewed, and you will then have to wait 7 business days for us to issue a receipt.
Can I Return My Product?
Yes, you can return your product.
Please include a note inside the return package stating:
- The reason for the return
- The amount you paid
- The date of payment
- The method of payment
Please note that we do not accept returns on personalised items, including custom Signs, Business Logo Plates, and Number Plates.
I am unhappy with my order what can I do?
If you are unhappy with your order, please email us at Topgearplates@gmail.com and include pictures of your order, your order number, and the reason you are unhappy.

How Do I Apply To Become a Registered Trader?
You can register to become a trader by using our form, which can be found in the footer of any page under "Our Company."
I've been Approved as a Registered Trader. How do i now order plates?
How to Place an Order (Step by Step)
- Log in:
First, log in using the email address you submitted in the form. - Verify your account:
Enter the 6-digit code you will receive on your email to confirm your login. - Go to the order page:
• On a computer: Click the TGP logo or use the menu at the top.
• On mobile: Tap the ☰ (three lines) then tap "Place An Order". - Choose your product:
Click the product you want from the list. - Select your options:
• Choose how many plates you need
• Select front, rear, or both - Place your order:
Click the order button to complete your purchase.
How will I know if I've Been Approved For Trade Products?
You will receive an email from us once you have been approved as a trade customer. The email will also include a step-by-step instruction guide on how to order your trade products.
What happens if I don't use my Trade Account?
Trade accounts that remain inactive for 12 months (no orders placed) will be closed.
What happens if I don’t place my trade plate order through the website?
To ensure your order is processed correctly and at trade pricing, all trade plate orders must be placed through our website. Orders made outside of the website may not be accepted or could result in delays, as they won’t be automatically logged in our system.
Please note: if you visit the shop and place an order in person without using the website, standard retail pricing will apply.
BESPOKE DESIGNS
How long do bespoke orders take to be made and delivered?
Bespoke orders can take up to 7 days to be made, plus an additional few days for delivery once dispatched.
We advise customers to contact us before placing a bespoke order to confirm the current production timeframe and avoid disappointment.
Bespoke orders include:
- Custom Surrounds
- Business Logo Plates
- Any item where the customer requests changes, personalisation, or customisation in their own way.
